The program was
limited to a living area and a working area, being as flexible as
possible so as to be able to accommodate the extensions of the house
itself on the lower floor. The second floor is divided into two
longitudinal spaces: one constructed;the other empty. The first is
defined by birch plywood panels which fold out or close up according to
the functional demands of the space. This contains the bedroom, the
stairs, thhe toilets and in the future, a possible kitchen area. The
empty space, the living room, is created from the relationship with the
two exterior elevations and the desired relation with the constructed
area, extending or reducing its area. The stairs unfold below. Hanging
from the roof, the stairs descend and create a relationship with the
regular space under the staircase which reach 10 meters high. This
relationship between a clear geometric space and a volume (the stairs)
is adaptable, in its desired condition of a cocoon, so that its
translucent skin create transparencies and shade. unfinished work.
